City Mayor Hernani A. Braganza is set to leave on Sunday for a week-long working visit to the United States.
His engagements include series of meetings and round table discussions with different US-based Pangasinan organizations like Alaminos Association of Southern California (APASCA), Pangasinan Brotherhood, and APASOCA as well target investors.
Braganza will not just be warmly received but also congratulated by the officers and members of various Alaminian and Pangasinan organizations, friends and relatives for his remarkable feat in the recent local elections.
The visionary mayor will be the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the APASCA’s 37th Induction of Officers and Dinner Dance on June 26 at the Cerritos Park East, California.
On the said occasion, he will inform his kabaleyans in the US on his administration’s humble accomplishments for the past six years.
He will also update the Alaminian communities in California on the city government’s on-going landmark projects like Alaminos Airport Dev’t Project, Hundred Islands Medical Services Complex, Pangasinan State University-Alaminos City Campus and the Alaminos Hotel.
Braganza will likewise highlight in his speeches his other brainchild that continue to touch the lives and greatly benefit his city’s youth and constituents that include the Bright Child Program, One-Stop-Shop Business Center, the Agri-Volution Program, Tourism Revival, Environmental Protection, and improved basic services
He is expected to lure his citymates to start investing in Alaminos, now a fourth class city, with four major projects already in place and one of the major growth areas in Northern Luzon Agri-Business Quadrangle.
He will also personally thank the Alaminian organizations in the US for helping Alaminos get back on its feet.
Two powerful typhoons battered the city in 2008 and also last year leaving thousands of families homeless and millions of pesos worth of agri-products and other properties destroyed.
And in the spirit of Bayanihan, APASCA was among the first benevolent entities to extend various and timely assistance to the typhoon victims.
Braganza will also extend gratitude to those who heeded his call to invest their fortunes in the city as evidenced by the mushrooming of many business establishments in the city that include new hotels, restaurants, transient homes and big buildings.
This early, the former two-term congressman and former Agrarian Reform secretary, will also invite his kabaleyans to come home to rediscover their place of birth and join the annual and grand celebration of the Hundred Islands Global Homecoming and City Patronal Fiesta next year.
While in Los Angeles, he will meet with Mr. Archie Gomez of the Philippine Consulate General to discuss the consulate’s proposed projects for Alaminos such as international exhibits and road shows to help promote the city’ pride-the Hundred Islands National Park (HINP).
He will also discuss with Mr. Erick Pangilinan, current Art Director of Naughty Dog and Senior Artist of Sega of Amerika, the proposed graphic arts program for game development.
The mayor is also expected to talk with Mr. Ron Shafner, founder of Secret 6 and Director of the New Business Dev’t., Sony Computer Entertainment America for possible business venture in the city.
Braganza, widely regarded as one of the trailblazers in local government management & leadership in the country, will be back on the 28th, just in time for his inauguration on Wednesday, June 30, as the first-ever three termer city mayor of Alaminos.
With him at helm for the next three years, he is expected to continue to make wonderful things happen for his beloved city and his citymates. (CIO)
