Alaminos City has its own riverine system, the Tagoong River, with a length of approximately 10 kilometers, stretching from the Embarcadero Bridge going downstream to the mouth of Tambac Bay. Several minor rivers, creeks and swamps are also distributed within the city, with an estimated area of 613.766 hectares or about 3.7% of the total land area.
These river serves as source of fresh water for irrigation for agricultural lands as well as an alternative transport access, using both non-motorize and motorize boats as means of transportation, particularly from Poblacion heading out downstream towards Barangay San Jose that futher exits to the mouth of Tambac Bay via Barangay Mona or Barangay Pangapisan.
