At present, the City operates a four hectare controlled dumpsite located between the boundaries of barangays Bisocol and Dulacac. To date, only 14 barangays are being served by the City’s collection program (Solid Waste Collection Route Map). Based on the waste characterization conducted by the General Services Office in 2004, out of the 25.25 MT of solid waste collected, 63 % is biodegradable. Meanwhile there are about 33 established Barangay Material Recovery Facilities located in strategic locations (Location Map of Barangay Material Recovery Facilities). |
